Why you need to know what 1,2,3 means

September 14, 2021 1 min read

When you go to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned or a checkup you may see them poking around your gums with a tool and saying "1,2,2,1,3,2,1". Hopefully you hear a lot of 1's and 2's and no 4's or 5's. What this means is how deep your pockets are - and I don't mean money wise, I mean your gum pockets. 1 or 2 or even 3 means your gum pockets are 1,2 or 3 millimeters deep, which is good and means you're taking care of your gums and brushing well - with the right brush - like Toof. Anything 4 or over is not good and means you might need some help from a periodontist. Don't put it off and know your numbers.
